Day 24: Leon

Sunday 22nd of October.
Outside the beautiful Cathedral of Leon. Our stay was inhibited by the rain which was soon to begin and continued until the morning of our leaving on Monday. Leon was a beautiful old city, but the weather was most unkind. The Cathedral was especially beautiful within, with magnificent stained glass windows. We were to "witness" an extraordinary liturgy this morning, as the celebrant decided to ridicule the Sunday choir, which happened to be made up of young boys. Needless to say whose side the crowd was on. Afterwards we enjoyed a nice Sunday lunch together. The hostal where we stayed had shared kitchen facilities, and so over breakfast we were to interact with a number of young people with whom we had already had fleeting conact thus far along the camino. Camila from Germany we were to meet again on a couple of occassions and finally again in Santiago. Also Rose from Tasmania, with whom we were to speak briefly again in Santiago.
