The cross that greets the pilgrim upon arrival at El Burgo Ranero. Unbeknowns to me Peter and Dennis had taken an alternative route, entering the village of Calzada Del Coto and going on to Calzadilla de los Hermanillos. Although concerned about their late arrival, I finally showered and enjoyed a couple of beers served by a wonderful barman, the most friendly we were to meet on the Camino. Though the village had nothing really to offer besides an interesting old Church which was locked and outside of which we sat and drank a can of beer each, the hotel gave us single rooms for no extra cost, and I certainly enjoyed the atmophere of the bar.
